Jesus Christ and to each other!” There is a place for everyone!

Body of
Christ Fund – When those in our church family are in financial straights, this
ministry is just the place for them to stop. Members of this ministry
team will enlist financial support from members of the Body to assist
with the needs of the family or individual needing assistance. This
ministry will also purchase gift cards for groceries, adopt members of
the congregation at Thanksgiving and Christmas time to deliver a food
basket, as well as gifts for the family. Those who participate in this
ministry must understand the need to maintain complete confidentiality
when dealing with Body of Christ matters. If you are interested in
recieving assistance, you may pic up an application in the church
office.
Disaster
Relief –
This team
will be developed to assist those in our area, or outside of our area,
when natural or manmade disasters strike. This would include tornadoes,
terrorist activity, hurricanes, floods, fires, etc. Teams could be
mobilized to physically go to the area and provide relief, but a part of
the work of this ministry could be to assemble crisis care kits. A
Disaster Relief Trailer could also be created which would house the
items necessary to travel quickly to an area to provide assistance
(saws, hammers, blankets, bottles of water, etc.).
Divorce
Recovery –
This team would be focused on surrounding individuals who have recently
gone through a divorce with love, compassion, prayer, care, and
companionship. As well, this team would attempt to get the person
connected with a professional counselor who could be a valuable asset in
such a time.
Nursing
Home Care –
This team would develop a weekly Nursing Home ministry or ministries,
which could include providing a worship service at one or more care
centers, activities, visitation, etc. The goal of this team would be to
provide love, caring, compassion, companionship, etc., to those who are
residents. A genuine love for senior adults, the disabled, and the
chronically ill is a necessity. A desire to love the sometimes
forgotten is also essential.
Hospitality
–
This team includes greeting people as they walk in the doors, attending
the welcome center to be of assistant with any questions one might
encounter and also working in the café. This team ensures those
entering the doors of South Side will get a warm welcome and to the feel
encouraged to be part of the church family.
Now that you are the
body of Christ, and each one of you
is a part of it! 1 Corinthians
12:27
