This Sunday we will continue our series on Community as one of the practices of Jesus. And over the course of the last few weeks God has given us opportunities to put this practice to use!The needs have been great with the flooding that has devastated our so many of our friends, families and neighbors. But the response of the community, the response of the church, has been miraculous!
In the past week we have served approximately 50 families that have needed clothes, toiletries, food and other resources! That's what community looks like. That is community in action. We love and we serve one another sacrificially because that’s what Jesus did for us!
This Sunday, we will talk about confession as part of our practice of community. The truth is we all make mistakes. We all sin. Community thrives when we take accountability and confess our shortcomings. We don't cover up darkness, but rather expose it to the light! This allows us to receive forgiveness from God and live at peace with others.
