The Practices-Generosity

Throughout 2026 we have been talking about what it means to Seek First the Kingdom of God. The primary way we have done this is by looking at the Practices of Jesus during our Sunday morning worship gatherings.  This week we are going to be starting a series on the next practice of Jesus–-Generosity. 

Now I think a lot of times in the church, it can feel like these conversations about generosity often center around money.  And the reality is that giving, tithes, and offerings, are biblical…we should teach and speak on those things in the church.  In fact we will talk about that during this series. 

But that’s not where I want to start because generosity is about way more than what we spend our money on. Practicing generosity is first and foremost about what has our heart.  If God truly has our heart, then generosity becomes a natural outflow of our relationship with him.  Because generosity starts with God and what he gave for us, not what with what we give to him!
